Homemade Mosquito-Repellent Using Young Living Essensial Oils

There are actually a lot of essential oils that will work as insect repellents. Instead of poisoning yourself with the toxic commercially available insect repellents, make your own Bug-Be-Gone sprays. Here are a few recipes sure to send those bugs ‘a-packin’:
- Combine 5 drops lavender,
- 5 drops lemongrass,
- 3 drops peppermint
- and 1 drop thyme.
- Put on feet or add to a little spray bottle filled with water, shake well, and spray on.
- Put 5 drops lemon and 5 drops Purification in a little spray bottle of wate r and mist on your skin to protect yourself against insects, flies, and mosquitoes.
Tick Bites: Mix thyme or oregano in a 50:50 dilution (with carrier oil)
and apply 1 or 2 drops over the bite area and the tick
. The phenols in these oils will usually cause them to let go to get away from the oil. After the tick is off, treat the bite topically with a drop of tea tree, peppermint, lavender, rosemary or Thieves a couple of times a day.

Lemongrass (Cymbopogon flexuosus) has a light, fresh, citrus aroma with earthy
undertones. Refreshing, rejuvenating, stimulating, and balancing, it inspires
and improves mental clarity. Lemongrass also supports the circulatory system*
and has a score of 17,765 on the antioxidant ORAC scale. Research was published
in the Phytotherapy Research Journal regarding the powerful properties of
topically applied lemongrass. |
Cockroach Repellent:
Mix 10 drops peppermint
5 drops cypress in 1/2 cup of seal saltwater, Shake well and spray were roaches live.

Eucalyptus radiata is cooling, refreshing, and energizing. Lighter in smell than
Eucalyptus globulus, it has many of the same supportive properties. Because it
is relatively gentle and nonirritating, it is the preferred choice for children.
This variety is one of the most versatile of the eucalyptus oils and is suitable
for topical use, diffusing, and even direct inhalation. It has long been an
ingredient in some of Young Living's most popular blends. |
Inssect Repellent
Using Single oils:
*6 drops peppermint
*6 drops tea tree oil
*9 drops Eucalyptus Radiata

Peppermint (Mentha piperita) has a strong, clean, fresh, minty aroma. One of the
oldest and most highly regarded herbs for soothing digestion, it may also
restore digestive efficiency.* Jean Valnet MD studied peppermint's supportive
effect on the liver and respiratory systems. Other scientists have also
researched peppermint's role in improving taste and smell when inhaled. Dr.
William N. Dember of the University of Cincinnati studied peppermint's ability
to improve concentration and mental sharpness. Alan Hirsch MD studied
peppermint's ability to directly affect the brain's satiety center, which
triggers a sensation of fullness after meals. This powerful essential oil is
often diluted before topical application. Peppermint may also be used to enhance
the flavor of food and water. |
And these oils Blends can also be applies with alittle coconut oil or V-6 Oil apply with a cotton ball and dab on person :)
Purification
