JoAnna's Elderberry ++PLUS++ Syrup for Auto Immune Support ( And STEP II Attenuation Syrup)

Finally I know  , I know no need to chide me lol I am finally posting this , Finally got it written Out I have been real proud of myself I have this big notepad I have been writing down my creations as I go and taking notes and being more consistent :) Despite the four little's and the all about craziness here lol .

So yes I am sure by now everyone has told you about How wonderful Sambucus (Elderberry is) Elderberries contain organic pigments, tannin, amino acids, carotenoids, flavonoids, sugar, rutin, viburnic acid, vitamin A and B and a large amount of vitamin C. They are also mildly laxative, a diuretic, and diaphoretic. Flavonoids, including quercetin, are believed to account for the therapeutic actions of the elderberry flowers and berries. According to test tube studies2 these flavonoids include anthocyanins that are powerful antioxidants and protect cells against damage.

Recipe for JoAnna's Elderberry ++PLUS++ Syrup for Auto Immune Support
To note this is a smaller batch for this i do smaller batches since I make my Elderberry ++Plus++ Attenuation Syrup nothing goes to waste! You of course can double or Triple the recipe. THIS VERSION IS VERY POTENT than most recipes so the dosage below is given.

Of course these items can be bough in Bulk through Amazon, Mountain Rose Herbs so forth. But Also you can go down to your  local Natural food store they sell these items in there BULK section for very Inexpensive.

1/2 cup of Organic dried Elderberries , If using FRESH use 1 Cup . ( I use Frontier Elder-Berries-Whole-Organic-Frontier
5 organic dried Whole Cloves
2-3 Whole Organic Star Anise
2 Tsp of Dried Rose Hips

1 organic Cinnamon Stick
2 cups of fresh water (non chlorinated)
Roughly 2 inches (can be more or less) of Organic Ginger Root sliced thickly you should have like 5 to 6 slices.
2 Thick Organic Lemon Wedges
1 cup of RAW Organic Honey (try to Support Local we do) :) .


Add all ingredients BUT THE  HONEY into a medium sauce pan

Bring to a boil on medium heat , turn down to low and simmer with lid on for about 25 - 30 min. Until the liquid should be reduced to 1/2 .

Pour through a sieve into a bowl or big measuring cup.

Using a Potato Masher try to get as much liquid from the "Mash" as you can .

Once you do that take a Soup Ladle and in a circular motion press down to get all the liquid out.

Once that is done , set the sieve aside (especially if using for RECIPE #2 , nothing goes to waste here) .

Let cool to room temature you do not want your delicious Raw Honey 's good bacteria ( probiotics) to get killed.  Add Honey.  Place in a Jar and seal. Should stay good in fridge for 2months.
UPDATE :So I did add 2Tab of Stevia in the Raw to make it a bit sweeter for them :)

Remeber this recipe is pretty potent so Dosage should be as follows :
Adult : 1 1/2 tsp per day .
Children : 1/2 to 1.(omit honey remember if giving to under 1 year , consult physician before giving) .On the Onset of a Outbreak of Symptoms :
Adults  : 2-3 tsp
Children: 2 Tsp.

JoAnna's Elderberry ++PLUS++STEP II (using the diluted remnants of the syrup above) Attenuation Syrup)  (kind of reminds me of my Remouillage after I make my STOCK) Recipe here -- JoAnna's homemade-stock-aka-compost-stock and Remouillage

Using your "Pulp" , "Remnants" from the above recipe place back in pan and add 2 cups of water- At this time you can if u wish add some fruit , have any apple pieces, pear, citrus so forth like that , you don't have to but even apple cores work. You can even add more the spices If you want but you don't have to honestly i just add apple cores and a slice or two of citrus.  Do the same as the recipe above SAME steps BUT don't use raw honey just use Organic Honey  ( I get mine from Costco) .  So same steps stain cool and so forth MARK and Use for the following :
*Pancake Syrup ( just add the desired amount of 100% Pure Maple Syrup)
*Add to cakes and desserts
*Add to Gummies or Jello (bovine sourced) recipe coming soon.
